I’m a Seeker of Healing and Growth
I had a profound altered reality experience at 8 years old, which stirred something deep in me, although it took another decade before I began to understand what it meant.
Later at the age of 18, I grappled with depression, anxiety and overwhelm. The yearning to heal that pain is what led me on a path of seeking insight and growth.
Thankfully some wonderful therapists and spiritual counsellors helped me get through this difficult time. I also read books and reflected extensively in solitude about what it is to be most fully alive.
I began to discover an unusual new freedom: healing from challenging experiences can make you stronger, kinder, and more resilient. They can open you up to more understanding and compassion for yourself and others.
I am who I am today because my challenges cracked me open – they helped me find the pathway back to my heart and my true self.
The other essential aspect of my journey was learning to meditate – a practice that has been a bedrock for me for the past 20 years as I continue to focus on my growth as a person, as well as a professional.
Answering My Calling to Serve Others
For over 15 years, I’ve been helping people overcome their struggles and pain. It is an extraordinary opportunity to be a companion to others on their path of personal growth. I’m passionate about continually learning and enhancing ways of helping my clients in their healing journey.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I had careers as a holistic massage therapist and a naturopath, focusing on stress-related issues.
I enjoyed those roles immensely, yet found my true calling was to be a psychotherapist and transformational coach – helping people heal their emotional and psychological pain and to find their way towards something that would work to help them move forward in their lives.
I love the resilience of the human spirit and how we’re able to transform the adversities we face to help us grow stronger, wiser, and more courageous in living a life that is true to ourselves.
I Work From The Heart
I am a highly skilled and experienced therapist – however, I’m told it’s my compassion, empathy, and joy for life that stand out in my work with my clients. I care deeply and genuinely about my clients and do whatever I can to help them heal, grow, and thrive.
My clients are drawn to me because I am approachable, highly optimistic about life, and offer a way of working that is both heart-centred and empowering. I build rapport and trust rapidly, making our work progress more efficiently and quickly.
In spite of the evidence based-proven tools used in therapy today, research on the effectiveness of counselling always comes down to the relationship the client has with the therapist.
I believe the profound relationships I build with my clients are the reason I get such outstanding results – many clients use words such as “life-changing” to describe their work with me.
